Growth of First Nations Stewardship

Vernon Brown of Klemtu, traditional territory of the Kitasoo Xai’xais, is a local leader who spends summers working with youth in the Supporting Emerging Aboriginal Stewards (SEAS) Program.

SEAS provides youth experience in learning about traditional territory and ways, wildlife, marine ecosystems and a variety of subjects at the heart of Great Bear Rainforest. A longtime Grizzly Bear guide, Brown also spends much of his Fall on rivers around Klemtu, doing fish counts and observing Grizzly behaviour.

With times changing promptly on the BC Central Coast, Brown is a key player in ensuring aboriginal stewards are here for the long-term!
