Despite a couple of tough years of pandemic and travel restrictions in Great Bear Rainforest it’s with hope and optimism we look forward to a return to some kind of coastal normalcy in 2022!
While our crew spent months between Prince Rupert and Port Hardy last summer, we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes building a new Great Bear Tales YouTube Channel…designed to showcase the people, places, and beautiful things of the BC Central and North Coasts, Inside Passage and Great Bear Rainforest.
Great Bear Rainforest is a vast territory, running from Stewart, BC in the far North through Prince Rupert and down Grenville Channel to Hartley Bay, traditional territory of Gitga’at Nation. Southbound through the BC Inside Passage and around Princess Royal Island and you’ll find Klemtu and traditional territory of Kitasoo/Xai-Xai’s Nation. Bella Bella (Heiltsuk Nation), Bella Coola (Nuxalk Nation) and Rivers Inlet (Wuikinuxv Nation) also comprise the Heart of the Great Bear to the South.
We look forward to sharing more stories from the Great Bear, Coastal Communities and Coastal First Nations. Showcasing Central and North Coast Sustainable Tourism and Indigenous Tourism operators and accompanying tall tales is an honour and Great Bear Project can’t wait to roll into 2022!
