Great Bear Tales

It Is with great pride and respect we launch our new media showcase website “Tales From The Great Bear!”

The great bear rainforest is the traditional territory of coastal first nations with more than 10,000 years of history. Special thanks to the gitga’at (Hartley Bay), kitasoo xai’xais (klemtu), heiltsuk (bella bella), nuxalk (bella coola) and wuikinuxv (rivers inlet).

A marine crown jewel of British Columbia, the great bear remains one of the last pristine ecosystems on earth. From grizzlies and orca to humpbacks, bald eagles and five species of pacific salmon…the Great Bear is the west coast’s finest wildlife sanctuary.

The stories and tall tales of the Great Bear are rich in eco-tourism, ecosystem management based on traditional knowledge, wildlife viewing, nautical adventure, first nations culture and sport fishing. While the seascape is without equal, it’s the people that give the great bear its true texture and fabric…and will ultimately decide its place on the tourism landscape.

We look forward to bringing you great video features, images and words…all fine stories and tales from the great bear!
